Road Marking
Pana Glass Beads Co.’s Road marking glass beads are used to guide road users in the dark due to the presence of glass beads on its surface reflecting the lights of cars, motorcycles and bicycles. The glass spheres (retro) reflect the headlights of the vehicle to the driver, acting like a mirror.
In order to ensure a high level of visibility in all weather conditions, Pana Glass Beads Co has developed different glass bead ranges suitable for each type of application. Beads for horizontal road marking can be either dropped on the product when it is applied in situ – “Drop-On”; and/or premixed with the product during the manufacturing stage in the factory – “Pre-Mix”.
Visibility by day as well as during the night in various weather conditions, anti-skid performance, wear resistance and durability are essential characteristics of good road markings. Pana Glass Beads Co produces glass beads for all kinds of road marking products such as solvent based- and waterborne paints, thermoplastics and 2 component systems.

Micro-Poly
Pana Glass Beads Co.’s Micro-Poly beads are now an essential element in various plastic materials and widely used as a technical additive filler in different applications such as automotive and domestic appliances, E&E products and other industries to improve surface aspect properties (aesthetic, scratch and abrasion resistance, dimensional stability) and processing (faster extrusion and injection cycle time, less reject rates).
Special Fillers
Micro-Poly solid glass beads are used alone or combined with other additives in thermoplastic and thermoset resins. Solid glass beads appear like a white powder but are in reality perfect spheres of soda lime glass. The glass beads are coated with a coupling agent, providing solid bonding between glass and resin and enhancing dispersion of the beads in the matrix.
| Type of resins | Example |
| Thermoplastic resins | PA ,PE ,PP |
| Thermoset resins | Epoxy, Polyester |
Surface Engineering
Aimed at various industrial applications, the Micro-Blast beads are widely used in the surface finishing of various ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Glass bead blasting prevents corrosion and enhances product performance while introducing compressive residual stresses at the surface.
Micro-Blast beads can be used for surface finishing, cleaning, deburring and shot peening
All surfaces can be treated: metal, plastic, glass, rubber…
Peening
Glass bead peening is an effective way of increasing the fatigue properties of metal parts and resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The Micro-Blast beads are hard and lightweight thus producing a high magnitude layer of residual compressive stress while leaving a smooth surface finish. Micro-Blast beads are a non-ferrous media and are readily used to peen non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and stainless steel. The beads are chemically inert, recyclable and environmentally friendly.

Industrial Services
During Pana Glass Beads Co.’s 11 years of experience many glass beads applications were developed. Filtration, light diffusion, light refraction, fluidization, thermal insulation, antifriction, lubrication, abrasion wear resistance, anti–stick… are only some examples of the many properties which could be enhanced by the use of glass beads.
Pana Glass Beads Co is more than willing to share its experience with you and to support you with the development of your products. Please feel free to contact us for all your questions about the advantages of the use of glass beads in your products.
Due to its unique features, such as a perfectly smooth and lightweight surface, glass beads have a special place in the industry. Among the applications of the glass beads in the industry, concrete and drilling can be mentioned.
Concrete Self-Compacing
A type of concrete, which appeared several decades ago, is a self-compacting concrete that has been engineered by its own special features.
By using them, problems related to the lack of proper condensation on concrete structures, such as the reduction of useful life and durability of structures, could be overcome.
Self-compacting concrete is a highly efficient and non-detachable concrete that can fill the mold space after being thrown in the desired area and surrounding the reinforcement without mechanical compaction, generally self-compacting concrete with similar materials of the same concrete In some cases, in addition to the relatively high amounts of lubricants, modifying additives are also used to make it.
The use of glass powder in concrete can prevent ASR expansion in the presence of active aggregates, as well as improving the strength of glass powder in concrete mortar and mortar.
Microscopic tissue tests indicate that the glass powder can produce a denser mixture and improve the concrete properties.
Lubricants For Drilling
In the field of drilling, Ultra fine, fine, medium, course, ultra-course offers five sizes of glass beads according to international standards.
Glass beads act as a small bearing to reduce stress and pressure and do not produce any chemical reaction, which increases the life span of the drill bit, which in turn results in a reduction in drilling and expansion of drilling capacity.
