Road Marking

Pana Glass Beads Co.’s Road marking glass beads are used to guide road users in the dark due to the presence of glass beads on its surface reflecting the lights of cars, motorcycles and bicycles. The glass spheres (retro) reflect the headlights of the vehicle to the driver, acting like a mirror.

In order to ensure a high level of visibility in all weather conditions, Pana Glass Beads Co has developed different glass bead ranges suitable for each type of application. Beads for horizontal road marking can be either dropped on the product when it is applied in situ – “Drop-On”; and/or premixed with the product during the manufacturing stage in the factory – “Pre-Mix”.

Visibility by day as well as during the night in various weather conditions, anti-skid performance, wear resistance and durability are essential characteristics of good road markings. Pana Glass Beads Co produces glass beads for all kinds of road marking products such as solvent-based and waterborne paints, thermoplastics and two-component systems.

Pre- Mix

Pana Glass Beads Co.’s Micro-Pre family consists of mixed beads blended in the thermoplastic or paint material during its manufacturing stage. These beads are also called Pre-Mix, Inter-Mix or In-Mix beads. This road marking material has a high longevity due to its thickness.

The Micro-Pre beads produce a constant reflectivity throughout the lifecycle of the marking material. As the road marking material wears over time the glass spheres that are blended in the material are exposed to the surface maintaining high retro-reflectivity characteristics and enhancing the life of the road marking material.

Pana Glass Beads Co.’s Micro-Pre beads are available in various particle sizes depending on the marking material , the thickness and required performance levels.

Glass beads Micro-Pre are usually used to mix with colors, thermoplastics and 2/3 of the compounds based on their active systems. These products are made using recycled glass.

Pre- Mix Beads are CE-certified according to the European norm EN1424 and respect the other standards like BS6088 A and etc.

Drop-On

Horizontal marking material is made visible by the addition of Drop-On glass beads. These spheres (retro) reflect the lights from a vehicle in various weather conditions.

Micro-Drop beads are CE-certified according to the European norm EN1423 and respect the other standards like BS6088, 8040 and AASHTOM247.

Micro-Poly

Micro-Poly solid glass beads are hard, resistant (high crush strength), inert, spherical and have excellent chemical and heat resistance properties.

050-20

The ultrafine glass beads with a smooth and polished surface, are crush resistant and fully transparent. It has the texture and appearance of white powder.

Pana Glass Beads Co.’s Micro-Poly 050-20 glass beads can be supplied with coupling agent in order to enhance the dispersion and integration of the glass beads into the polymeric resins.

050-40 The Micro-Poly 050-40 are, ultrafine glass beads with a smooth and polished surface, are crush resistant and fully transparent. The average diameter of the particle size is 40 µm. It has the texture and appearance of white powder. Pana Glass Beads Co.’s Micro-Poly 050-40 glass beads can be supplied with coupling agent in order to enhance the dispersion and integration of the glass beads into the polymeric resins.

Surface Finishing

Aimed at various industrial applications, the Micro-Blast beads are widely used in the surface finishing of various ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Glass bead blasting prevents corrosion and enhances product performance while introducing compressive residual stresses at the surface.

Micro-Blast beads can be used for surface finishing, cleaning, deburring and shot peening. All surfaces can be treated: metal, plastic, glass, rubber…

Peening

Glass bead peening is an effective way of increasing the fatigue properties of metal parts and resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The Micro-Blast beads are hard and lightweight thus producing a high magnitude layer of residual compressive stress while leaving a smooth surface finish. Micro-Blast beads are a non-ferrous media and are readily used to peen non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and stainless steel. The beads are chemically inert, recyclable and environmentally friendly.
